The March of Dimes funding can also be used to make the household more accessible.

    City of Toronto Funding Program for medical devices and supplies for Toronto residents

    The city of Toronto  offers a funding program for low-income residents that provides financial assistance for the purchase of medical items and supplies. The program covers a wide range of products, including mobility aids, diabetic supplies, hearing aids, Hospital beds,Slings,Hoyer Lifts,Bathroom accessories and much more. The eligibility depends on the income level and the type of medical based item.The program aims to ensure that residents have access to the medical items and supplies they need to maintain their health and quality of life .

    Hardship Fund

    Funds may be available to pay for certain medically based items/services such as eyeglasses, emergency dental work, medication, medical items (walkers, hearing aids, hospital beds and more) or funeral expenses. Low-income Toronto residents who are not receiving assistance from Ontario Works, Emergency Assistance or the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) can apply regardless of their immigration status in Canada.

    Who Can Apply

    Low-income Toronto residents, who are not receiving assistance from Ontario Works/Emergency Assistance or ODSP, who require help with a medically based item/service, may apply.
