Medline PluroGel® Burn and Wound Dressing is a water-soluble, cell-friendly wound gel designed to support a moist healing environment while helping soften and remove wound debris. Its unique micelle matrix allows the gel to remain in place within the wound bed for extended protection and effectiveness, making dressing changes more comfortable — especially for pain-sensitive patients.

Indications (When to Use)

Suitable for management of:

• Partial- and full-thickness wounds

• Chronic vascular ulcers

• Venous ulcers

• Diabetic ulcers

• Pressure injuries

• Surgical wounds

• Draining wounds

• Trauma wounds (abrasions, lacerations, skin tears)

• Tunneling or undermining wounds

• First- and second-degree burns

Contraindications

• Not recommended for third- or fourth-degree burns.

How to Use

1. Apply gel directly onto a sterile secondary dressing.

2. Use foam dressing for shallow wounds or packing strips for deeper wounds.

3. Apply approximately:

   • 3 mm layer for minimal drainage

   • 5 mm layer for moderate drainage or extended wear

4. Cover with an appropriate absorbent secondary dressing.

Removal & Dressing Change

• Easily removed using standard wound cleansing methods (saline, sterile water, or wound cleanser).

• Recommended change: daily for optimal results.

• May remain in place for up to 3 days, depending on clinical condition.
