Transfer Bath Bench With Curtain Control

Most consumers who rate products give either a "5" or a "1", it's great or it's terrible. I'm going to buck the trend and offer a mediocre "3". Read on: this seemed like the perfect choice for my mobility impaired wife for a shower seat. We had looked at many on-line, and this Transfer Bench was the only one that provided a path for a shower curtain inside the tub, to prevent messy and dangerous water spills outside of the tube. Spills outside could lead to dangerous slipping conditions. The Transfer Bench was purchased in early November, 2024, but not assembled until New Year's Day, 2025, after my wife came home from nursing home rehab. The Bench assembled easily, looked good, held my weight just fine. The problem? Certainly not with the Transfer Bench: our bath tub is too narrow for the bench to fit. The "U"-tubes, that provide the channelway for a shower curtain hang up on the tub's outer wall. Even raising the Bench's legs to their highest positions does not help, and the Bench cannot be modified. From the inner wall of the tub to the inside edge of outer wall of the tub, I measured 22". I cannot get a good measurement on the underside of the bench, but I would estimate 24" wide tubs for prospective buyers of the product. Nice sturdy product which was easily assembled. My husband could easily transfer from outside to inside the tub. I really liked the curtain guard. Saved a lot of cleanup outside the tub. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

The idea is great, but there are problems. The inside legs sit in the radius of the tub and thus do not form a vacuum. The U-shaped bars have rubbed the coating off the edge of our tub. If you raise the chair up high that will help. My wife's legs are short, so we have to set the chair height to the second from the bottom. Any higher would be dangerous for her. If this chair breaks, we will not replace it with this transfer bench.

Safe and Secure Shower Bench

You can get in and out of the tub with no assistance. I like the fact that you can put the shower curtain in a slot which keeps the water from splashing out onto the floor. The seat is large and comfortable, fits well in the tub, without any slipping. It even has a weight limit of 400 lbs!

Great Equipment Built Sturdy

Not surprising the quality of this bench since it is from Drive. I’m a Home Health Occupational Therapist and recommend this bench as the very best option for a tub bench. It prevents water from leaving the tub, is very easy to assemble, and has a sturdy build. If you want a top of the line tub bench, look no further.

A great idea for my

A great idea for my wife to take a shower and not spray water all over the bathroom. Sadly, no minimum tub requirements were given, and to get to my wife's height, the splash defense would rub the inside of the tub, and the outside feet would still dangle 2 inches in the air. Adding blocks under the outside legs only made it too high for my wife to use, plus was very unsteady. Must return item.

Shower Transfer Bench - with curtain guard protection

The bench is working out well. It was easy to put together and is sturdy. I do think that a place for the shower curtain is a must so I would recommend anyone thinking of purchasing a shower bench to get the curtain guard protection too! It does make a difference.

I am short, with leg weakness from polio.My bath tub is twenty years old with a non-skid bottom and curved edges at side-bottom join.The Bench fits in the tub but the rubber skid preventers on the legs tend to fold up on the bottom, and hold the bench about half an inch higher on the sides. This small difference in height makes transfer somewhat harder. Other than that, the split bench surface works well in allowing the shower curtain to stop the wet floor problem I had. Thank you for helping!

The stool is everything I was hoping for. My husband can sit with ease, from the outside of the tub. I lift his feet and set them into the tub. Then he slides himself over to the middle of the seat. The curtain can then be pulled closed without moving the chair and he can continue with his hand held shower nozzle. I love it and the whole shower experience is done in safety without getting the whole bathroom drinched. Thank you for such a safe and wonderful product!

Bath Transfer Bench

The bench was easy to snap together and is very sturdy. And, it really allows you to pull the shower curtain closed, The floor stays dry! You have privacy!

Shower chair

it worked great in my shower. I loaned it to my brother-in-law and they have a tub that is not ceramic and they had to pad the side of the tub so it wouldn’t break but other than that he loves it.

For years I have fought

For years I have fought the shower curtain to get it just right so it wouldn't leak water on the floor. With this one you do not have to worry. I have an older tub and it does tend to run the side of the tub making an awful noise. Other than that it is great.

Answer to the messb

This thing is great! No more water on the floor. I can see why everyone is snapping these up. I was surprised how sturdily it is built.

While it is a heavy duty product and relatively easy to assemble, it doesn't not automatically adjust to every tub. I will have to do adjustments to make it work.

Working well

Bought this bench for my dad, specifically because it had a place for the shower curtain to fit INSIDE the tub. The legs adjust so you can get the bench level. We measure before we bought and it JUST fits. It is touching the tob and made some marks. Make sure you measure.

Best transfer bench by far

This splash guard transfer bench has been fantastic, I have been home from rehabilitation after back surgery, and is the only reason I am able to enjoy my shower everyday. The styles at the rehab facility just did not do the job. Great product

Great Bath Seat - Poor Assembly Direction

Works really well as is sturdy and appreciate the adjustment options. The assembly instructions are difficult to follow and not correct.

This item works great it's sturdy and helps me and my elderly mother shower. The only downside is that irs bulkt in my bathroom.

Great bench

The chair is fantastic!! After the shower, I open the curtain and NO water on the floor. Easy to clean too. It was easy to put together. I did it in 10 minutes. Highly recommend.

Great chair

I love this chair! I have not gotten a drop of water on the floor yet and am super pleased. This chair is the answer for me to feel secure when showering, and getting in and out of the tub is a breeze now. Highly recommend this chair!

Shower chair spells "SAFETY" for me.

I like my new tub chair especially the shower curtain feature. Now I can close my shower curtain without water going all over the floor. Great idea. Also, so easy to install. Now I feel safe taking my shower.

nice but will not fit in a standard sized tub

It is too wide to fit in my bathtub. The shower curtain keeper bars angle and will not allow the bench to fit in the tub. Would be better if they went straight down instead of an angle

Absolutely love that you can pull the shower curtain through bo keep from soaking the floor, nice and sturdy for someone who is 275 lbs

Nice to sit in the shower

It is too wide for my apartment-sized bathtub, so I have to use risers on the floor-side to raise it up so that it will fit inside the tub. I don't sit down to enter/exit the tub, because the seat is cold on my bare skin. Otherwise, very nice.

Fits our 65 year old tub!

Fits perfectly for us. No more wet floors! Some tubs arent as wide as ours. I recommend looking up the specifications, then comparing it to your tub before buying.

Might not fit your tub!

We had a problem fitting it in the original tub in the house. The old tub is almost 3 inches higher than the newer ones. The bars where the shower curtain go thru is where the issue was.

Shower Bench

While I really like this bench, I wish it came a little smaller. I live in an apartment so the tub is not regular size & I have trouble getting in & out of the tub due to small space.

Solved our orthopedic issue of not being able to stretch our legs without considerable pain to climb into our tub. Now able to slide in without extending our too much.
