Great quality for the price!

Great quality for the money. I have owned others that cost more, but they weren't near as powerful as this one. It is lower, wider, and more stable feeling than the others, and I love that the seat swivels. Also, doesn't beep in reverse, gotta love that. Ok, the cons- this is very wide and just barely able to make the turns in and out of rooms. It is powerful enough to just rip out chunks of your door jams if you cut your turn too close. It is low to the ground too. I'm 5'6" and my knees sit just higher than my hips. And I wouldn't consider it a travel scooter, it's a beast. It weighs about twice as much as my previous scooter ($350 more!) But, all things considered, I love it. It's fast, sturdy, climbs right up hills and ramps, long lasting battery, nice and quiet, very happy with my purchase and after a week of tearing out my door jams, I still definitely recommend this scooter

not for outdoors!

This is a great scooter for indoors probably a 5 for that and a 1 for outdoors does not handle grass hardly at all even trails very bumpy roads like at campgrounds very bumpy I really wanted this to go on camping trails and on our acreage also for zoos flea markets etc. Does great in stores not really for outdoors st all! Very disappointed for outdoor use! I rented one in California that one did great outdoors, zoos, trails etc not this one I guess that's what I get for a cheaper scooter we cannot afford anything more too bad!

Crappy battery

Got this in 2019 and the battery died already gets a few times a year in the summer and battery has been taken out every time for 2/3 months. Battery cost just about as much as a new machine.

This is the 3rd drive scout spitfire I've had, it's that it's a little bigger than the others and I'm tall so it's much more comfortable

Good for narrow space

I can freely move inside tight spaces, unlike other scooters. This one is truly a heave sent.

Good scooter

Obviously built to a low price point but it seems well-engineered and sturdy. Runs well, but the tires are very hard, making the ride a bit rough except on very smooth pavement. Maneuvering is quite easy, though you have to be careful of tipping at times. Initial setup was pretty easy, but the manual doesn't mention the front wheel lock, which is not very obvious but must be released to drive the scooter. Stumped me for a while. It's the big black knob in front, at the bottom of the tiller. You pull it out and turn it until the pointy part of the knob is facing upward -- then you can steer. The manual also doesn't explain the freewheel lever, which allows pushing the scooter around. It's the red horizontal level down low at the back of the cassis. You pull straight upward on the lever for freewheeling. Breaking down the scooter into five pieces for transport is quick, as is reassembly for use. Either takes a minute or two. Some accessories are available, including longer-range batteries. The manual did not contain any contact information, warranty information, or service locations. That was nervous-making! But I found a page at the Drive Medical site with the information I needed -- http://media.drivemedical.com/pm-resource-service-plans.html. Overall I'm pretty pleased but will dock one star because it's obviously a lower-end product and the missing warranty and contact information may be a problem for some.

Outstanding Scooter-Best Price

We are extremely pleased with this scooter. It is every bit as fine a product as models selling for a much higher price. Very well made. Solid construction. We've had it now for six months and it continues to perform flawlessly. My wife enjoys riding it and we use it frequently to go shopping. Although it can be disassembled into separate pieces, we can lift it into the trunk by keeping the rear wheel assembly attached and removing just the seat and the battery. Despite her disability, my wife is then able to lift one side of the scooter while I lift the heavier opposite side to put it in the trunk. Recharges quickly after use. I recommend this product without reservation.

Our first scooter

Upon arrival we were impressed at the thought that went into the design. It was easy to assemble and get going. It is peppy and stable, and we anticipate it easing our lives. The overall length and given turning radius limit the scooter in our situation (our old house) but everyone will have a different set of challenges. But that's mobility in a nutshell, isn't it? All in all I'd say it is a great value for the price, well made, and easy to handle in pieces and out and about. I recommend this product but do some calculations first to make sure it will go everywhere you need it to.

Great scooter for a great price

This scooter is the perfect purchase! It was easy to assemble the first time, and even though the battery had a full charge, I did as instructed and charged the battery for the night. I used the scooter for 2 1/2 days and still had some charge left. I had no problems getting through doorways and on or off elevators. The basket on the front was really nice and got a lot of use. The horn isn't loud enough, especially in a crowd or noisy place. Overall I am really happy with this scooter.

Safe and handy scooter, inside and out.

Nice little handicap scooter that has been very stable during her long recovery. Good battery life and quick but safe. Took a few times getting the rear drive to lock in on our first few outings and it a little heavy for this old guy to get in and out of our SUV. If I were to do it again, I'd get the four wheel model as it would be much easier to assemble without the front tipping back and forth when locking on the rear drive.

Works for me!

I purchased this a couple weeks ago. My first outing was yesterday. I went to the zoo with family. It was easy to put into the trunk and get out and put together. It was so easy to operate and did very well on inclines. I was very impressed with the battery. Of course I am not sure how it will hold up with time but at this point I can see many more outings with my family. Can you say "Outlet Mall"?

I Love It!

I love this scooter. Got it just in time for our Mother's Day event at Knotts Berry Farm Brunch. I am 5' 1", 228 lbs. and it fit me nicely (Even though I have wide hips). It's sturdy and easy to maneuver. I was worried about the quality, but no need. It handled the up and down ramps in addition to those little yellow speed bumps very well without wavering. Great price, Great value! Glad I bought it..

DURABLE AND POWERFUL! WORKS GREAT!

This scooter is small and compact but really durable. I have a 2013 Toyota Sienna Van. I had one of the middle seats removed to accomodate my walker. With the scooter I take the seat & battery off and can easily lift the front end into the van. I then put the scooter into "neutral" and lift the back, it easily rolls into my van with little effort. By putting the front tiller down I can still put my walker in the van too.

Great, affordable product!

I bought the Spitfire 3-wheel mobility scooter for my mom in July 2017. It was difficult for her to walk around after having a blood clot in her left foot. It is very easy to separate into more transportable parts. When the battery is fully charged, it lasts her for a few days. She loves to use it in the casinos and when going through the airport. That's one of the main reasons I got it for her was to make it easier to travel through the airport. And she loves the basket in the front, although she would like a larger one. But she loves the product and I love how affordable it is.

Spitfire Scout 3

Works well outdoors; used it during a 4 day weekend at an amusement park. Battery life is good, we charged it for an hour or so in the middle of the day to try to make it last late into the night. It is helpful to power the scooter down if it is not being driven for an extended period, to conserve battery. Also, if left sitting with the power on for an extended period, it needs to be turned off and back on anyway, as it seems to need to be "re-set." Overall, a good investment for getting around with my family.

scout scooter

I got this for my husband who was finding it difficult to get around the house even with a 4 wheeled walker. He loves it, he can now 'drive ' up and down our book cases in the passage to choose books to reread. Get to the bathroom much quicker. All in all it is a real boon to him. It is quite silent and the battery is lasting a long time without recharging. he goes at the slowest speed and is very adept at turning it. It is really well worth the money. We are more than pleased with it.
