Great idea, but very poor assembly process

Excellent concept, but ours was not assembled properly. The first time we used it, it would not travel in a straight line. Not good, but livable. Then we took it on a cruise, which was a disaster. The very first day, there was a small lip at the bottom of a wheelchair ramp, and when we tried to push it up, one of the ball bearings on the right front wheel broke apart, and the wheel was left flopping around. After that, only 3 wheels would touch the ground at a time, and it really couldn't be used as a transport chair. And it only worked poorly as a walker, but we had no alternative but to use it that way for the entire week. There was nothing we could do to fix it on the cruise ship. When we finally got home and had a chance to disassemble it, we found out why it started out with problems. The bolt holding the left front wheel was not completely tightened, and the bolt on the right front wheel wasn't tightened at all -- not even finger tight. Also, all 4 ball bearings on the wheel hubs were of very low quality, and were extremely loose. No wonder one of them broke apart. I spent about $40 for new, high quality sealed bearings, and assembled everything properly, making sure the bolts were properly tightened. Everything is fine now, but we shouldn't have had to go through all of that to get the chair in usable condition.

Frustrated

Frustrated with quality of wheel parts

I bought this walker due to it being a transport walker in addition to a regular walker with larger wheels. I have to use it daily as a regular walker and am very happy using it that way. It is heavier than a regular walker which can be a good and bad thing! The bearings in one of the front wheels has already failed and I have only had it for 4 months. I had to look on line for parts and was fortunate to find what I need. I’m so lucky that I have someone that has the knowledge to fix it. I’m waiting for the part that I just ordered and hope everything will turn out right.

heavy duty

got this rollator for my mom who is abt 160lbs. it is heavy duty. i cant say its lightweight bc its a pain to carry too/from car. i wish it had suspense or springs bc she can feel Every bump and crack. does not work well on grass at all. it is hard to fold up to me wish was a securing belt or brace to hold it together while i fold it up. wish was a seat belt bc going in/out of places it cant get over the smallest humps have to reverse her into doors instead backwards.

Drive Medical 4 wheel walker/transport chair

This is a great 4 wheel walker/transport combination chair. This is built solid. I took off 1 star because it is a bit heavy getting in and out of the trunk of a car and the seat could use a bit more padding. It would serve most average height and weight people that can lift the chairs weight of about of about 18-20 pounds. Very easy to put together out of its shipping box. It is not a wheelchair. But it can be used in place of one for a short distance with someone else to push the person sitting in the seat of this device. It has a fold down foot rest too, which is nice. I recommend this Drive Medical 4 wheel walker/rollator transport chair.

We bought this for my mom after being classified as a high fall risk. We're very impressed with it. First of all, its very easy to put it together, it basically comes in tact, but you need to put the handles on. The handles can be easily adjusted to fit her height, and it feels sturdy and safe when using it. my mom has COPD and uses a portable oxygen device, so the compartment under the seat is perfect for transporting it while she uses the walker. She tires quickly so locking in the brakes and sitting for a bit on the seat really helps her. And last but not least, flipping the foot rest down and using it as a wheelchair transport is perfect when taking her to her Doctors appointment. Easiest 5 star rating i have ever given. Well worth the money!

This rollator is guaranteed for life. No Need to buy again.

I have been using my Drive rollator for over 8 years and am very pleased with it. The only problem I have with it is that when you are using it as a wheelchair you have to be careful when you go over uneven pavement. It has a tendency to push you forward out of the chair. We solved this problem by turning it backwards until we passed over the gap and then turned it forward again. No big deal.

Good but not excellent

Assembly directions were definitely not clear, but managed to get the rollator to open up. Then to store it in the folded position was impossible as it wouldn't stay folded and would pop open constantly. Followed the directions but those were not helpful. I finally had to "jeri-rig" it closed with a large velcro fastener. NOT the best option but was the only way. The red knob would NOT tighten into the slot--kept going round and round. Took off 1 star for that frustration only. Otherwise, it maneuvers well as I push my husband around and is very smooth. I like the large wheels and the ability to switch it from a walker to a push behind chair. For the money this is pretty nice.

It's the perfect walker/wheelchair combo!

We bought this for my Dad, this dual transport wheelchair/rollator is the perfect combo, it's easy to convert to the wheelchair, it's light weight to put in & out of the car. The only thing is the wheels are hard plastic and suck and are bit harder to go over bumps & so they do slid a tiny bit, even when the brakes on. That is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Rubber wheels would be way better / or different wheels. Still definitely recommend! Thanks

Looks and works as described.

The Dual Function Transport / Walker is everything I hoped it would be. It is sturdy, well constructed and has larger wheels for use outside. This is a fallback in case the one my husband is currently using needs repair or replacement. The only downside is that the handle on this one does not fold up so it stays a little larger for putting in the back seat, and it weighs a little bit more, but being able to use it as a transport offsets those little inconveniences.

Terrible disappointment

What a terrible disappointment The first time I used it I had difficulty with the right wheel it kept catching and pulling to the right. Going up the ramp I have at home I lost my balance But caught myself and didnt fall. My son discovered the bolt was gone luckily He fixed it Now it is very wobbly no amount of tightening on the screws does any good. On the left side there is a red screw missing I needed this cart to take on vacation in October bur dont know what I am going to do since Im scared to trust it

This thing is treacherous!

Good idea. Bad execution. It's not sturdy or easy to fold into vehicles. In addition, I tipped out of it 5-6x. My caregivers struggle to push me in it and it is definitely not for uneven surfaces. The wheels catch on every bump or hole. I'm going to get another chair but one that is transport only.

This is salt. This product is so easy to push another person. I really like this card a lot. It's better than a wheelchair and it's lighter than a wheelchair so it's very comfortable so I really do like this roller cart.

This is the second one I have bought, the first one had the bearings fail! The first one is now having the front bearings and wheels replaced. It was used for at least 2 years before the bearings failed after a trip to visit the U.K. And France for two weeks. Like the part where it converts to a wheel chair for when she gets tired.

Great dual function walker/wheelchair

It is the perfect duet (walker + wheelchair) for our need - primarily using walker inside the house and using it as wheelchair when going out of the house once in a while. Like it for it's relatively compact size and weight (not that heavy). It is easy to convert from walker to wheelchair and back. Seat is pretty sturdy and wide enough to sit properly. The only little thing we don't like is that once folded, the seat isn't secured and flops around which if not paid attention could easily break.

Nice

My grandson came over to mount the rollator but it was already mounted when he took it out of the box. The description says red but in fact it was burgundy which is a plus for me. The bag underneath is a bigger size than before. Another plus. It has upgraded like being able to use it as a wheel chair. The wheels are larger. I only gave it 4 star because of some minor negative things. To lift the seat there's a big hole to the basket. The seat is slipery. Most of all It's heaver.

Hybrid Walker Transfer Chair

This is a great option for travel if someone uses a walker but can’t go far. The walker can be transformed into transfer chair so that the person can also be wheeled. I like everything about this product except one of the catches broke off the back support and will need to be replaced. Nonetheless, assembly is super simple and conversion is easy as well.

Love the Rollator/Walker

This rollator is very versatile. It was very easy to assemble out of the box. It is very sturdy so feel very confident walking with it. Love the 8" wheels. It manuevers beautifully arround the house. Fits through all of our doorways. Love the feature of being able to sit on it if needed. Love the feaature of converting into a wheelchair when needed. Very light and easy to use. GREAT PRODUCT!!

Loved it...til it stopped working

I was very happy with this Rollator when I first received it. But, less than a month of using it saw me back using my old Rollator because the wheels on my new one no longer rotate. Had I written my review sooner, I would have given 5 stars.

Perfect for my grandmother's needs

My grandmother suddenly experienced weakness in one of her legs and needed some assistance walking. I decided to get this for her, as she tires easily and being able to convert this into a wheelchair or a seat was an additional plus. The chair was easy to put together and easy for her to handle when using a a walker.

Mostly a good thing...

I am mostly pleased with this product. However, one of the pushtabs to change out the backrest is not installed correctly so it does not actually latch in place. This would not generally be a big deal but if you grab the backrest when loading and unloading it detaches and becomes an issue. I have attempted to adjust it to no avail. Otherwise I like the product, especially the taller handles and footrest.

Regained some Independence

Very Helpful! I suffer from severe spine degeneration and have trouble standing and walking. This allows me to have more freedom to cook and clean inside and I can also participate in other activities that I was unable to do. Thank you!

I wouldn't trade mine

I love my Drive Rollator/Transfer chair. The storage under the seat is spacious. The seat is comfortable enough for my wide bottom. The handles adjust to the right height for my long legs. My husband can push it easily when I'm too ill to walk on my own, or the distance is too great. For long days out, I added chipmunk style child stroller type storage bags on the sides. I even used it once AS a stroller for a 5 year old; with the bar in front and a strap across her back. My only complaints: when seated the heads of the fastening nuts were rough and had to be covered because they snagged a chiffon skirt. Also I don't like the thumb 'blades' on the handle grips; I replaced those with plain grips.

Safe easy assemble walker

This is a sturdy walker. It is easy to assemble and I did it by myself. It provides safety features that are so necessary fir a person who requires walking assistance. It does fold up easily but is cumbersome for a small person to lift and put in the trunk of the car. But doable.

It tips over if you have to go over a crack on the sidewalk or step on a pebble. But other than that is the perfect wheelchair for voy going to a restaurant, the doctor, etc. Lightweight and strong

Love this walker! I like the sturdiness and stability that it provides. I especially enjoy the fact that it doubles as a transportable wheelchair. It's also not too heavy to load into our car.

Love it!

This walker is more stable and maneuverable than other walkers I've used. I love the basket and seat, which makes it easy to carry things from room to room. It is a little difficult for me to put in car. Even though it's lightweight (compared to some), it is still heavy for me.

Great for those who need a little help walking

This walker is awesome. The fact that it converts into a chair is very useful as I have an elderly mother who gets tired while walking and needs to be pushed back to the car. If youve ever tried this with a walker that doesnt convert into a chair, youll find it is very tricky and hard on the back because dog how you have to push it. We love this walker, we got ours lightly used with some small scratches but its still the best thing weve found and I would but it again, after this one is worn out that is.

Well built multi purpose walker

This was purchased for my mother-in-law. I searched until I found the same kind my parents had when they reached the point of needing assistance walking. I wish I would have stored moms after she passed. Anyway this is a very well built walker. It enables the user to sit if rest is needed. It also allows caretakers to push the user so they can save their energy to shop! Moms was great on a cruise we went on. She could explore on her own or I could get us to the next spot by pushing her.

Expected it to fold up smaller and stand on own!. Not happy about that! Also heavier than I thought, for a 87 yr old to put in a car. Falls when folded off and on. Also red button difficult to pull at same time as pulling up seat strap! Needs tweaking for sure!!!

We are very satisfied. See above review.

This is our 2nd Drive - we wanted one for the car and use one in the house they are light weight and we bought because it serves as a Walker and can transport with the foot rest.It has served our purpose and have used it for airplane travel in and out of the country.

ROLLATOR/TRANSPORT CHAIR

I am only giving it a 3 star rating because as a transport chair on the outside, I have a lot of trouble pushing my husband on uneven surfaces. You have to turn it around and go backwards to be able to go over an uneven sidewalk. I don't like the wheels at all. It is a great walker for him inside.

Broken Walker

I ordered my rollator waller September 2023. I've used it 2 months. The front wheel is broken. My mechanic said the ball barings have fallen out. I need a new walker as I am facing knee replacement surgery .

I love it

This is an easy change from walker to rider. It is built well for my weight and comfortable for a walker chair. I would have liked another color but the burgundy is acceptable.. this makes it convenient for me to shop and enjoy being outdoors.

Happy with Purchase

Easy to push and much lighter than a “lightweight†wheelchair; dual function - use as walker and easily transitions to transport chair. If my parents tire out - have comfort knowing they have a place to sit & be wheeled around.

Great Buy

This is a very hand walker that doubles for riding wheelchair with footrest. The backrest does not toggle or flip back and forth but has to be physically removed and repositioned for using the wheelchair and footrest version. For elderly persons, this can be challenging. Easy for caregiver. Underseat basket adds security for possessions but is more difficult for elderly to get items in and out. All in all, well worth the price!
