Casters are already locking up. The casters are not of solid plastic material. Instead they have some kind of a plastic shield over the caster itself. It must be some kind of metal because there is a black oily substance leaking after use in the shower. Horrible quality for $700.00.
I really like this chair, its well made. I do have 2 problems with it. I'd like it if the footrest angle could be adjusted, these are fixed at an angle and the removable part in the seat sinks in when I set on it. I'd rather have a solid seat or the insert to not sink in.

In all the chair works
In all the chair works well. Easy to assemble. One problem are the foot rests, they cannot be adjusted to lie parallel to the floor when down, they are always at an angle. This does not suit everyone.
