Easy to set up and use.
Easy to fold and unfold. Much lighter than a normal wheelchair. Nice size wheels for a smooth ride and less difficulty with rough surfaces. Really liked the brakes being part of handles so I didn't need to bend over to set them. The person I was giving a ride, wanted more control over the travel - so now looking for a lighter wheelchair with a wider seat.

Works well all over town
I have wheeled this travel chair all over town, including all over the zoo. It is easy to push, the wheels and hand breaks operate smoothly, and it collapses easily by pulling up on the seat. With this travel chair, the occupant has to be pushed by someone else—it is not possible for the occupant to wheel themselves independently other than “scooching†a short distance using their feet along the floor.I separately purchased a wheelchair “backpack†that hangs onto the wheelchair handles and it is the perfect place to store the footrests when they are not needed on the chair. I also separately purchased a wheelchair seat pad to give the seat a little more cushion. Those two accessories have been very handy.I have two overall complaints:—I wish it had foot breaks (like a stroller does) in addition to the hand breaks. We were at the zoo and stopped for lunch on a slight incline. Foot breaks would have helped ensure that the chair would not roll while we were “parked†for lunch.—I am less than 5’ tall and a grandma—Although it’s a travel chair, it’s still a bit heavy and awkward for me to get into and out of the trunk of the car—especially with the foot rests on—but it’s not nearly as heavy as a full size wheelchair. This is a reasonable price, and I am very happy with it overall. It’s significantly more affordable than a full size wheel chair.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review helped you!

This product has changed our
This product has changed our lives for the better. I am 70 and my partner is 84. She has some heart issues that make it difficult for her to walk or stand for long. This chair is light weight, but very strong. It is easy for me to get in and out of the car and the large back wheels and hand brakes make it so easy to push, steer, and secure. We recently took it to the library and my partner used it like a walker and placed her books on the seat as she went.. ten of them! She also used it as a walker at the store. When she got tired, she simply locked the hand brakes and safely sat down in the comfortable seat. We are so happy to be able to go places again. We are looking forward to concerts, museums, the zoo, and much more. I would sincerely recommend this great chair to anyone who has been staying home because they lack the ability to walk or stand for any length of time. If you can still stand up and sit down, you can still live a full life.

A Lifesaver!
I can't say enough good things about this travel chair! My husband is very senior and recovering from a hip fracture. This chair has made getting to appointments so much easier. The chair is light enough for me (also a senior) to fold and lift into the trunk. The foot rests can very easily be removed, or swung aside when not in use or when the rider needs to stand up. Trying to get him anywhere in the walker was a nightmare because it took so long with the slow walking and trying to have him walk uphill in the parking garage was impossible. This is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time, and I believe we will have many years of use out of it. Sturdily built, relatively compact and very maneuverable. I would caution that when encountering any kind of low threshold, or uneven surfaces, backing up the chair so one goes over the threshold with the back, much larger wheels, is the easiest and safest bet. Be sure to use the seat belt!

somewhat disappointed
I did a lot of research for a transport wheelchair for my mother. Reviews for this were positive for most part. We needed lightweight, easy to maneuver and skinny enough for tight spaces, and easy to get in and out of a vehicle. I can't say this wheelchair doesn't meet all that criteria but yet it is somewhat difficult to handle. The hand brakes are stiff and difficult to lock and unlock, therefore making you feel the need to keep checking to make sure the brakes are set. The wheels do not turn as easy as her other wheelchair when I thought these would be easier to maneuver in tight areas. The size is good for a small woman, and it is lightweight and easy to fold. However, because of its difficulty in maneuvering we do not use it as much as hoped. Her "regular" wheelchair is more dependable for us for everyday use, and this will be used strictly for travel. Maybe with time, the brakes and wheels will loosen up to make it easier for the person pushing it.

Value price, serviceable
Purchased this transport chair for a friend who suffered a stroke. We have used it hard, going bi-weekly to therapy thru all kinds of winter weather. It moves well, is easy enough to lift (I am a 72 yr old female), seems sturdy, and has showed no sign of wear or disrepair over the long haul. My one criticism has more to do with functionality at therapy. It seems for some of the arm exercises the therapists wanted the patient to remain in the chair. The arms of the chair are quite high, making those exercises impossible. Removable arms would be a plus. Also, the patient is rather short and it is difficult for her to lift her body to get up because the arms are so high. Another pointof awareness: someone who is more hefty would need to be concerned about fitting comfortably in the chair--it is quite narrow--different from the average wheelchair.

Light, very easy to unload
Much lighter than expected, it's been a breeze to get into and out of the car. Not at all flimsy though; been completely confident that it's got my rider safely covered. Folds up quick, opens fast, too. Super manueverable; turns on a dime. Remember this chair must be pushed by someone else; it can't be hand-driven by the rider. Note: Wheel locking isn't explained well; push handles down to lock the chair in place. My only complaint is that the fold-down footrests fall off every time I've put the chair in the car. They just rest a peg; the footrests are not fastened to the chair. It's a small flaw in a wonderfully easy-to-handle chair. Already bought a second for another family member, so there's your recommendation.

Best purchase ever!!!
After reading A LOT of reviews here in Amazon I went with this Medline brand . My mom uses a walker around the house but taking her out to doctors appointments and any other reason the walker was just too slow and would wear he out. She has a regular wheelchair she got from Medicare but it's so heavy I cannot lift it up high enough to get in the hatch back of my car. So I bought this one to use on the go and it had been a complete game changer for our outings. It comes pretty much already assembled, it's extremely easy to fold up, the breaks work great and it's light enough bi can lift it into my car with ease. So happy with this purchase and I think you will be too.

Works Best on Smooth Surfaces
I bought this transfer chair as part of my search for a wheelchair I could lift easily to put in my car. The weight works well for me, a healthy 63-year-old woman. It seems well made and it happens to be my husband's favorite color, a plus since he's just getting used to needing a wheelchair. The tricky bit is the level of difficulty I have maneuvering the chair on pavement. For example, parking lots rarely have perfectly smooth pavement nor are they perfectly level. My husband is 6' 2" and 200 lbs. He fits fine in the chair but he can be quite a load to push up a ramp or across pebbly pavement. We have to go backwards over lintels and even then we can get stuck. I was motivated to try this one because the price was so reasonable and the low weight compared to other models. It will work fine in a museum, restaurant, or mall, but take care on other kinds of surfaces.

Nice transport chair
I purchased this chair for our family vacation for my husband. He had a stroke a year + ago and his left leg fatigues if he has to walk too far so this worked great to give him an opportunity to rest and still partake in the sights. It folded nicely into the back of our SUV and is pretty light weight. I read reviews of the frame cracking and we did not have any issues but we only used it for a week so long term I don't know how it will hold up but it has decent size tires on it and we were careful where we pushed him if there were uneven surfaces. The handles were nice and sturdy so he could push the chair and give himself some extra support too. Overall i would purchase this chair again

Medline Transport Chair……..
Transport chair was exactly as described. Rolls very easy and is lightweight. Fits right in the trunk. Was a godsend to help me care for my parents. I would recommend to anyone needing mobility assistance.

Great transport chair
We were rePlacing an older invacare model that we had picked up used. This model is perfect for what we need. Brakes hold strongly. Easy to fold and open. We use in place of wheel chair around town, and on trips in addition to the regular wheel chair. We just put it on the end of the bike carrier that we use on trips, and fold into the back of the car for around town. So much lighter to lift and push up our long wheelchair ramp, which goes up a hill by the side of our house. The foot holders stay in the up position while getting in and out of chair, an issue we had had with a second used chair we had bought. In short, we love this chair!!

Just what I needed
The wheelchair was exactly as expected. It is lightweight, durable, easy to assemble, and the hand breaks are a great feature when going downhill. Handbreaks allow for better control. This is perfect if you need to just transport someone to and from the car. Best for someone who is ambulatory so they can sit in a chair. Best feature is that it is lightweight and handles fold down to fit into a regular sized trunk of car. Folds easy when not in use. Great product. Would buy again.Be aware that the person in the wheelchair cannot wheel themselves. Strickly a transfer wheelchair. (I knew this)

An amazing help in time of need
What a lifesaver this transporter has been! I ordered it open box and saved $8. I am not a smart person when it comes to putting things together. Usually I leave that stuff to my husband. When I received this, I was so excited for my grandmother that I went ahead and took it out. It was so simple to put together and disassemble. We have used this numerous times now at doctors appointments and I couldn't be happier. My grandmother is tickled as well because now she can go along with us anywhere and not have to worry about her legs giving out. I highly recommend this product and so does my grandmother. She said that it is even comfortable to ride in.

An unforgettable lightweight comfortable chair
I have had 5 back surgeries. For the most part I am getting stronger daily along with better stability. Here if you want to attend the theater, go see a concert (inside or outside venue), walking the distances and inclines is a challenge. Even with a walker. Then we found this wheelchair. Very lightweight, easy to fold and unfold (loading in the car). But best of all ease to maneuver at a concert and comfortable to ride in. I will recommend

Fits our needs
States better than wheelchair on all terrains. Found swivel front wheels turn sideways, you can’t go forward on Florida grass. Had to pull my husband backwards through grass to get from sidewalk to a patio. Otherwise I would have rated 5 for maneuvering. Once I knew how to attach foot rests, those are easy. Folds well and if you fold back, remove foot rests, easily fits behind passenger seat on Honda CR-V. Make sure you hear click in place when you unfold the back in upright position. Ordered the blue and sweet! “Light weight†- guess they shaved all they could! Would purchase again.😊

Great transport chair
This chair is perfect to transport someone. I have used it in a mall, going to a restaurant, etc. It is not very heavy and fits in our SUV very easily. The one thing you need to be careful of is a very uneven sidewalk or potholes.Because it does not have the giant wheels of a wheelchair, it does not have the same stability. It can tip forward. I use it with my husband who has breathing issues and cannot walk without losing his breath - so this has been a lifesaver. We are able to leave the house and he is perfectly OK. We are happy we got it.

Amazing Wheelchair!!!
Love it! Very happy with this product. Lightweight, super easy to unfold/fold, and most importantly it's easy to lift in and out of my small car with no problems. I love the large wheels... it makes for great maneuverability. I also found and enjoy the hand brakes feature. As many of the other units do not have the hand brakes and are not as easy to utilize. 2 thumbs up from me. Thank you so much- You have made my life easier with out costing me a fortune. Great value for the price point.

Easy and lightweight!
We bought this for my five year old who recently broke her leg for school and to help with getting her around. It has been a free am with how easy it folds to how lightweight it is to lift into my car. You can fold down the back even further for compact cars but I haven’t needed to do that. It is very easy to use and I love the brakes. I would highly recommend for any age except it is a very slim design do people with heavier statues it might now work. We were in need of a pediatric wheelchair and this fit the bill.

Great chair for the price
I don't have a lot of experience with transport chairs but this chair seems GREAT for the money and only had to attach the foot rests and it was simple. I'm a 64 year old woman and I can lift it in and out of the trunk. I also purchased a seat cushion which worked out well for my 83 year old mother. Pushed her all around the SF zoo....however, you need to be very careful if you hit a good size uneven spot in the pavement it does tip. The wheels in front are smaller, so if you have to go over a lump in the ground, best to turn around and back over the bump with the big wheels going over first. You may even want to use the seatbelt to strap around the person's waist although we did not use it.

A solid choice
This fold up well, its semi light-weight. In comparison to a regular wheelchair its much lighter. I still have a hard time getting it in and out of the car by myself. But my husband is able to lift it up with no problem at all. I thought about getting one of the super lightweight chairs but I thought maybe they wouldnt hold up as well. This chair has the bigger back wheels which makes it more sturdy. I am happy that I choose this one!

A Medline Transport Wheelchair to Enjoy Being Outside Instead Of Being Couped Up In the House
This was a gift for an elderly neighbor who I saw was having problems getting from her house to her car, so I decided to gift her with a transport wheelchair. Her husband was very happy and says it's very easy for him to handle and he has even pushed her around the block so she can get out of the house and enjoy the scenery, something they haven't done in a long time. It's light, portable and easy to handle.

I like it
I got it for my partner who has a hard time walking far. This is ideal it fits in the car no problem . super easy to set up and it looks good. Plus it’s easy to store inside. It seems well-made too. I recommend. My only thing is watch out for cracks on the sidewalk. I like this wheelchair but the wheels aren’t really thick. so you just kind of have to watch out. I mean if you get stuck on a crack or a bump it’s hard to get over. The wheels are well made just not set up for cracks and things like that. No “Off roading” lol. I would definitely recommend this.

Great Purchase - Sturdy AND Light Weight
This was a perfect purchase. My husband needed a wheel chair. As a woman, I needed something that I could lift in and out of the hatch of the car - so its being light weight was essential. Of course, then I was concerned it would not be strong and well made. Let me tell you - it is PERFECT - light weight, well-made, maneuverabe. And, may I say, my husband says it is comfortable. All these positives - AND the price is reasonable.

Good for the price and purpose, a concern for safety
This is the perfect size and weight for our needs. It's light, easy to fold and manipulate. My only concern is that the breaks do not lock and you need to brace the chair so that it doesn't roll out from under the patient. As long as you have more than one person helping, it's ok.I purchased this to help with my dad's recovery, knowing (hoping) it would be short-term and all is well.

Medline Wheelchair
Easy to use and lightweight. Great for transporting from home to appointments. Solid, high quality construction. Only negative is the brakes; I thought they would be lockable. Instead they only work when someone is behind the chair holding them on. When in front trying to move the patient from the chair into a vehicle the chair will start to roll away. This of course is dangerous, and should be fixed on future production.

Easy to fold up and unfold. Comfortable for passenger. Foot rests easy to attach and detach, Passenger’s feet stay in place. Rolls smoothly. Brake controls on handles are very handy and effective.

A convenient option to a regular wheelchair
An inexpensive but well built transport chair. Perfectly suitable for conveniently pushing someone through a shopping mall or on the sidewalk. Large rear wheels make it easier on rough surfaces (uneven pavement etc.) This chair is not designed to hold up to wear and tear of a standard wheelchair. Consequently it’s much lighter and more portable which is the reason to purchase it.

Arrived Needing Brake Adjustment
I would say this product is a good purchase. It took me a long time to figure out that the brake wasn't working. The brakes cut into the wheel at all times & didn't lock. I realized that a nut needed to be loosened and now I think it's working well. It folds easily and fits in my trunk without needing to remove the foot holders. Its lightweight enough for me to lift it but I would not say I can easily lift it. This transport chair is adequate.

Definitely worth buying
So glad I purchased this! I got it for my Mom, fri use when we go places where the amount of walking with her Walker would be too much( museums, amusement parks, etc). It’s lightweight and easy to fold, and the fact that the backrest folds down too, makes it super easy to get in and out of the hatchback of my compact car. I also like the brakes on the handles. They help to secure the chair when she is getting in and out of it.

Really good transport chair
I sent this to my 86 yo mother who was caring for my dad. She was able to put it together with no problems. That alone was impressive to me. I used it with her and was very happy with how it worked. She was able to store it in the back of her little hatchback when she took him to appointments. Truth be told it was a little heavy for her but I don’t think a chair exists that would have been completely easy. I think it was a really good chair especially for the price.

I feel safe
My new transport chair feels substantial and safe depending on who is pushing it. I am in this chair at all times at home and I use my legs to scoot around. It is easy to maneuver BUT, I am used to having the breaks easy for me to reach. There are times when a person needs to stand and reach for something and should have the breaks on. This chair has only handle -bar breaks. If I had known this I would not have bought this chair. As it is I cannot feel safe at home using this chair, so it sits in the corner until I have to go to the doctor, which is the only place I go since covid.

Perfect for travel
I bought this for a family member so we can, again, enjoy getting out together to parks, museums, etc. The chair is very lightweight and folds into a square, making it so easy to put in and take out of the trunk of a car. It is also comfortable for the occupant—so far, we’ve only used it for short periods. It is only designed for paved, relatively smooth areas, not rough or rocky paths.
retiredcrimefighter
Comes fully assembled and so easy to lift into the car.
Excellent purchase and price. Fully assembled & lightweight making it easy for this 66 y.o. with a bad back to lift it in and out of my SUV. I did buy a 2 inch foam cushion to give the seat more height, making it even easier for my husband to get up and out of the chair. I bought this transport chair to replace a wider, heavier and very expensive wheelchair....that now sits unused in the garage.
