Serve the purpose but please read review

Serve the purpose but feel a bit wobbly to hubby, however he has extreme fear of falling since these were bought AFTER he fell and became wedged between stool and vanity in a small bathroom. Firefighters had to rescue him which was embarrassing thus his developing fear. If you are very large, we think these could feel too narrow. He is big framed man, 6ft, 280lbs, and big bone structure %26 he feels they are ok but could be a hair wider. In small space, you have to watch not to catch foot on leg of device, as you move past. This is not a product flaw but rather the nature of how such assisting devices sit in the environment they are used in. We wished the feet, rubber feet on bottom, were a bit bigger flange and perhaps suctioned to tile floor, however that potentially could make one catch your feet on them even easier? Lightweight, so not sure they will last for years or be good for baratric sized person.

Great product-works, easy install, and great price

This item has worked very well. Purchased to help with ease of using toilet after my total knee replacement 2 weeks ago, and am currently still using this product. As a few reviewers mentioned, there is a little play in the legs but not enough to cause any problems, and have never felt like it was going to make me fall - once I grip the handles, it always feels very secure. For the price, the ease of assembly (which took my husband about 10 minutes to complete and he is not a handyman), and the preferred look of only 2 legs opposed to 4 legs, I am very pleased with this product. BTW, my toilet is an American Standard, 6.0 Lpf/1.6 gpf. It is taller than most toilets (which is why I didnt need a raised potty seat and why this product was all I needed). My toilet seat is also an oblong seat. However, this product fit just as described under the toilet seat. Would recommend this to anyone needing some assistance with ease of using the toilet, especially after total knee replacement.

Best Option IMO

My mom and I are both disabled with various strength and balance issues. We’ve tried several different styles of hand rails, and this is by far the most stabilizing. I do wish the came forward a bit more for those like my mom who have limited range of motion. Works great otherwise and I’m ordering a second one for our other bathroom.

Placement issue for any size individual

I just needed handles for my little mother to use at Memory Care. The handles don't come out far enough to be placed well for usage. I guess they act like rails on a bed preventing. Falling east or west but they are too far back to grab to raise or lower oneself.

The safety rails were easy to install. They are very stable and supportive. I especially like the way the handle covers are designed. The no-slip design makes the safety rails even safer.

Glad we took a chance ,despite some reviews

After reading the reviews,I was keary ,especially the one that her husband took one look and said it would crack the toilet.i’m glad we did..can’t beat thr price. We have an older toilet from the 80’s..easy to instal there is NO WAY that will harm the toilet. No screws come. In contact with ceramic toilet. We both like it.height is good. The front legs don’t have suction cups on feet which allows for them to be more mobile but.. works good. We plan on leaving them there, after recovery.

Getting old ain’t for sissies….

I am suffering from vertigo and extreme dizzy spells on top of balance issues. I didn’t know if I needed this or not, but felt so much more secure from the first time I used it. It helps sitting down and getting up. That’s what I wanted it to do.

Does the job it's designed for.

It was easy to put together and install. It seems a little rickety for the price. The only complaint I have is that you cannot adjust it any lower because I am very short (this is my fault not theirs). I have been using it for about a week and it works well for getting up off of the seat without falling down.

Great product for the money!

The quality of EVERY component of this product was exceptional. Well engineered, easy to assemble and adjust to the height of different toilets! Great product for the money...it's so good, I'm not sure how they're making a fair profit. If the user weighs more than 200lbs. this may not be appropriate.

Very helpful, easy to install, works great!

I like that the handles can get raised (raising legs off floor) AND that they can be moved out and in from the sides. I WISH we had the option to lower the handles, but they seem to be at the right height to help me off/on the toilet. Better than a raised seat, because the toilet is easier to clean than a raised seat to attach to the toilet, that you can't use the lid on. As long as your arms can help you get up, this is better than a raised seat on a raised/ADA/comfort-height toilet. It is awkward to get my toilet paper off the roll, where it was placed. Am considering placing the toilet paper holder in a better location, and at least with one anchor on a stud!

Works good, but could be a bit shorter.

The safety rails are sturdy enough and fairly easy to install. The only mark against it is that it is quite high and I would have liked it a bit shorter. It is adjustable, but only higher. Therefore it must be used with a raised seat, which I do have, so it's OK, and would also work well for anyone who needs more support to just stay put . Would not really work well if you only wanted some 'arms' to help sitting down and getting up from an average toilet height, unless you're very tall. I'm 5'1".

Making life simpler ❣️

This toilet safety rail works so good. I am no longer worried that anyone is going to get hurt getting up on their own. It's so simple to install. And the cleaning of the bathroom is the same as before. No more work to clean. This is the top purchase of the day.

My husband had knee replacement surgery. We first bought the more expensive four legged grab bar. We didn’t like it. Decided to try this one. Liked it much better. Does not take up as much room next to toilet which makes it easier to keep my trash can in place. But also really like the adjustable feature where the leg will swing out a bit to give extra room. Much better than the one with four legs and just as stable since it actually bolts onto the toilet.

A good solid product

This item replaced an older one that was over 20 years old. This is a very sturdy and solid hand rail that is ideal for old persons and the people that have other medical problems like arthritis, etc. I put it together in less than 30 minutes.

Some good some bad

I bought this for my dad and it did give him support but it was shaky both the arms do fold out which helped with getting him in the restroom as far as space and then they fold back and lock into place again when pulled in but it wasn't real sturdy so he still needed the extra assistance getting in and out of the restroom

Bracket will not fit

It cannot be installed on our one-piece toilet. The holes are too close to the tank for the bracket to be installed and the bracket is larger than the gap between the tank and the seat. The order form should have stated that this Toilet Safety Rail will not work on a Kohler toilet.

the rails were adjustable for the toilet height but once installed there was no adjustment for the person using it if they needed the arms to be higher or lower. They were too high for my mother's use.

An Unfortunate Disappointment

I was initially excited that I would have a toilet seat to assist my husband after a hospital stay. However, though the I was determined to have the safety rail, the backing would NOT adjust to the back of my toilet seat. Need I say I was totally disappointed! It is hoped that one day the company will find a way to adapt its product to fit newer toilet claps.

A Good Buy!

I have severe osteoarthritis in my right knee and use two canes for balance while walking. Using the toilet presented some challenges, with regards to using the canes for support as I sat, then putting the canes where they were in reach and wouldn't fall. If I was in a hurry, it was even more problematic. With the Medline Foldable Toilet Safety Rail

Good but be cautious

Product is good but is a bit shaky. Probably should have some additional support crossmembers but this would probably increase the price. It serves its purpose but care should be taken. Very disabled person should probably use a more stable device.

happy

just what i needed to help me sit down and stand up from the toilet.. wonderful help, easy to assemble and install.. only four screws.. two on the toilet seat and two on the bar to hold the side rails in place. easy to adjust width and height.

The left armrest will not tighten. It fits into the hollow aluminum frame that is bolted to the toilet bowl, but the end with the threads is bent just slightly, but enough that the connection ring will not tighten, therefore the armrest wiggles. It is not very sturdy.

Simple Contraption

This was fairly easy to install. The safety rails are a bit unsturdy but perhaps that's me not knowing how to adjust them properly. 🤔 Overall I would say this is a good product. It's very simple but serves it's purpose.

toilet support railings

It's a good support aid, but made for a taller, bigger person than me. There is no way to lower the arm rail height.

Safety Rails work well.

Very easy to install. I've had recent surgery so have trouble standing up from low toilet. I have used a raised toilet seat attachment, but this is much simpler, works just as well.

My advice is to do more research

It needs to be more height leg height adjustable. My mom is 5" and it hits her under her arms at the lowest setting and when she tries to get up on her own it is hard for her to navigate with her frail arms...Seems a little wobbly.

Bit unsteady feeling. Need a four point stand.

For me its fine. Handles a little shakey, but for large or very tall maybe not. A four point one would have been steader. I am 120 and 5'6" so it's okay for me.

Would like to know if the side rails are made to swing in and out or are they supposed to be stable to the floor or tightened not to move? Can’t find it anywhere

Great value on a much needed item

Purchased this and a more expensive model. This one was preferred so much we ordered a second one to replace the more costly model. My 87 year old mom can't stop saying how much she likes her toilet rails.

Would recommend to anyone who has trouble getting up from toilet. Sometimes the safety bar is no help at all. You need support on both sides!
